Any individual (NRI, PIO, or Foreign National) from any of the Middle East Countries (UAE, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, KSA) can send remittance to India through SBI Express. The remitter needs to visit the Exchange Company (EC) to send the remittance.
You can send money to your own account maintained in India or to any relative/friend. The account can be maintained with SBI or any Bank in India. Money cannot be sent to the account of Non-individuals viz. Trust/Firm/Companies/Society/Clubs etc.
5. How much money can I send at a time through SBI Express?
Money when received and processed by the Exchange Company will be credited to beneficiary’s account in India within 24 hours in case of beneficiary account with SBI. For credits to beneficiary accounts with other banks, it may take one more day for crediting the account.
8. How can the remitter know the status of the transaction?
Once the remittance is successfully processed at GLS and credited to beneficiary, an SMS will be sent to the remitter in the Gulf country. Alternative, the remitter can contact GLS and enquire with the Transaction Reference Number (RDC no.) or he can contact the Exchange Company.
